
Medziphema, March 23 (MExN): The Department of Agricultural Extension, SASRD, Nagaland University, conducted a two day state level workshop on Climate Smart Agriculture on March 20 and 21 in SASRD: NU, Medziphema Campus. Thirty six officials from the state departments of Agriculture, Land Resources, Vety & Animal Husbandry and Horticulture; as well as from KVK Kohima, Mon, Mokokchung and ATMA attended the ICAR sponsored workshop under the aegis of the Institutional & Policy Processes on Climate Change and Extension Strategies on Climate Smart Agriculture Project. The Principal Investigator Dr. N. K. Patra, Asst. Prof, Department of Agricultural Extension was the organizing secretary. Prof. R C Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor In Charge & Dean, SASRD, Nagaland University graced the inaugural and valedictory as the chief guest. The Resource Persons for the workshop were Dr. Catherine Rutsa, LPM dept, Dr. C S Maiti, dept of HOR, Dr. Susanta Banik, PLP dept, Dr. T. Gohain, AGR dept, Dr. A K Singh, ACS dept and Dr. N K Patra, EXT department.
Group discussions and extension activities were undertaken wherein identification and validation of existing climate smart practices were highlighted for documentation as well as for further research.
