Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): The only girls NCC unit in Nagaland, 1 Nagaland (G)Bn NCC under the aegis Of NCC Group HQ Kohima covering 11 district of the state, observed Swach Bharat Mission (SBM) in entire Nagaland from April 12-24 in all its institutions.
Approximately 4000 NCC students participated in their respective schools and colleges by means of cleanliness drive; door to door canvassing; educating people in rural areas about the importance of maintaining general hygiene; and importance of using public toilets.
The drive was aimed to making Nagaland clean and green, with the notion that a healthy society needs healthy citizen, a press note informed.
In another event, the unit took up the initiative to create awareness about digital payment and targeting the reluctant populace by demonstrating them the use of mobile app for digital payment, it said.
The unit initially trained 50 NCC students of St. Joseph College, Jakhama and thereafter they conducted awareness drives for 500 people, each cadet dealing with 10 persons, it added.
