Participants of the 3-day training of fresh surveillance workers organised by NCVBDC, DoHFW Kohima from May 23-25.

Kohima, May 25 (MExN): The National Centre for Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare Kohima, organised a 3-day training to fresh surveillance workers (SW) from May 23-25.
At the training, Dr Neisakho Kere, Joint Director and SPO, NCVBDC, shared on the roles and responsibilities as well as basic information on vector borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, JE, Filariasis , Chikungunya and Kala Azar.
He also welcomed all the surveillance workers and stressed on upholding sincerity to the work.
Deputy Director, NCVBDC Dr Tinurenla Anichari, meanwhile, elucidated on signs and symptoms of Malaria, JE, dengue and on detailed treatment of Malaria.
State Consultant, Public Health & Training, NCVBDC Imsubenla imparted knowledge on recording and reporting of Malaria Formats with hands-on exercise on filling of all the formats. She also shared on IEC/BCC activities and usages of LLIN.
Ngangnenmongba, State Consultant, M&E presented the surveillance workers’ monthly performance reporting formats and deliberated on issues concerning the performance reporting by the SWs.
During the training, the surveillance workers were also taken for a field visits to Rusoma Heath & Wellness Centre to gave them first-hand experience on the activities as well as to learn on the different types of records and documents maintained at the health facilities.
Ameri, Lab Technician facilitated hands-on training on Blood Slide preparation, safe practices and RDT Kit test and interpretations of result, informed a press release.
