Kohima, October 23 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, will be conducting the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx), a state-wide mega mock exercise, on the 24th of October 2024. The exercise, designed to test the state's capability in responding to and managing any disaster, will be based on an earthquake scenario with a magnitude of 8.7 on the Richter scale.
According an official release, the exercise will begin with the sounding of a siren from the Police Headquarters in Kohima at 9 AM.
Stating that sirens will also be used by emergency vehicles participating in the drill, the NSDMA urged the public not to panic but to cooperate for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
