‘State’s coal diverted to Punjab’

Dimapur, July 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee has alleged that the DAN government has diverted to Punjab the “coal quota” meant for Nagaland. The NPCC alleged today that the DAN “dishonestly and fraudulently” diverted about 50,000 megatons to Punjab “for the benefit of few vested interest privileged people amounting to few crores”.

“The DAN government is marred with financial scams after scams and in furtherance of such indulgence, of late, it is learnt that coal quota meant for Nagaland to a tune of 50,000 MT under small and tiny common quota scheme have been dishonestly and fraudulently diverted to Punjab for the benefit of few vested interest privileged people amounting to few crores,” the NPCC alleged in a note received here today. The note was appended by the NPCC’s vice president of administration.

“As this financial irregularity being a serious issue affecting the Naga people, the NPCC demands that the people involved in this scandal be brought to full public knowledge and thorough investigation be carried out immediately; bring all the culprits to book and accord appropriate punishment as per law of the land,” stated the Congress. The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee expressed firm belief “in corrupt free governance of the state” and towards this objective “the party has been consistently vociferous on all corrupt activities of the DAN government.”
