Pfutsero, February 6 (MExN): Zapami Women Welfare Society (ZWWS) Pfutsero Town celebrated its 25th anniversary on January 29 at Pfutsero Town with the theme ‘Stepping Towards Progress’.
Speaking as chief guest at the event, Nguzonyi Wetsah, Director, SAMETI Nagaland & Principal, IETC (Agri) Medziphema, Government of Nagaland, encouraged the women to be united with feeling of oneness and to move forward with a broad vision towards progress of the society.
According to a press release from Neikolou Khutso, chairperson, Zapami Women Welfare Society, Wetsah maintained that women have a big role to play for peace and unity of the society and community. For the uplift and empowerment of women, he urged to utilize 30% of VDB fund reserved for women, 33% reservation for recruitment of Central Forces CRPF, Army. Wetsah also pointed out the 33% women reservation in municipal and general election case which is in Supreme Court.
The chief guest further encouraged the women to seek employment in Mahila Women Police and to attempt various competitive exams like UPSC, NPSC, and in various government departments, and to form SHG as much as possible to obtain financial assistance and bank loan for sustainable livelihood development. The Jubilee was marked by release of the Jubilee Souvenir by Rev. Dr. Dingu Kenye, retired Director, Development CBCC.
