Kohima, June 14 (MExN): The Labour department together with the CHILDLINE Kohima observed World Day against Child Labour in various locations of State capital Kohima under the theme, ‘In conflict and disasters- protect children from child labour’.
The day was observed through various activities with active participation from children, informed a press release. The highlights included sticker campaign, distribution of IEC materials. The participants holding placards walked from different directions in the town and culminated at APO conference hall, Kohima, opposite Oking Hospital Kohima.
Some of the placards read, “Say no to child labour,” “Stop child labour, they need our love and sympathy not our orders…,” “Child labour is a crime.”
Every year on June 12, World Day against Child Labour is observed to bring together government employees and workers organizations, civil society etc. to call to attention the plight of hundreds of millions of girls and boys, child labourers worldwide.
