Kohima, April 29 (MExN): Kohima Police on Monday recovered a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycle stolen from an Andhra Pradesh-based YouTuber and arrested two persons in connection with the theft, police said.

According to the PRO of Kohima Police, the stolen two-wheeler, bearing registration number AP40CS4895, belonged to Katabathina Sudheer Kumar, a bike rider and YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh, who had lodged an FIR at North Police Station, Kohima on April 17 after the motorcycle was stolen from outside his homestay at Midlane Colony, Kohima.

Following an intelligence-based operation, the vehicle was traced to the New Jalukie area in Peren District and recovered on April 27 in a joint operation involving Kohima and Peren Police, barely ten days after the theft was reported.

The prime accused, identified as Ilungchube, and the receiver of the stolen motorcycle, identified as Amos Pame, have been arrested. Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of their involvement and any possible criminal network, police said.

Proactive coordination between Kohima Police and Peren Police, along with oversight by SDPO Jalukie and investigative work by the North Police Station team (led by SDPO North, Kohima), led to the stolen vehicle’s recovery within ten days of the complaint. Kohima Police said the swift recovery was a result of seamless coordination between the two district police forces and underscored that jurisdictional boundaries would not hinder effective policing.

“This recovery reaffirms our commitment to the safety and security of all visitors to our state,” Kohima Police said, adding that the public was urged to report any suspicious activities immediately.
