DIMAPUR, JUNE 29 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has urged the state government to expedite the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the entire state of Nagaland.
In a representation addressed to the Chief Minister, the NSF wished to know why the government is prolonging the implementation of the ILP in the entire state even when the assembly had resolved to implement the same in February 2019.
It said the official committee constituted by the state government for implementation of ILP has already submitted its report.
The Federation reminded that it had over the decades been urging the state government for effective implementation of the ILP and the BEFR 1873 in letter and in spirit to cover the entire state. It also stated that the Federation had submitted its long standing demand on the matter to the State ILP Committee.
While appreciating the state government for assuring the people to deliver its commitment to the Naga people at a time when Naga people has been disturbed by the PIL filed by one outsider Ashwani Kumar Upadhyay in the Supreme Court, the Federation has urged the state government to stop playing delay tactics and implement ILP in the entire state at the earliest.
