Street plays to mark World Blood Donor Day

Dimapur, June 12 (MExN): The Ministry of Culture and National School of Drama (NSD), under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, will be presenting street plays on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day on June 14.

Zoe Theatre School of Ministry (ZTSM) Nihoto Village, Dimapur together with Unity College of Teacher Education (UCTE) Dimapur, will represent Nagaland, a press release informed on Sunday. The group will perform three shows or Nukkad Natak (Street Play) in Dimapur at different venues including NRL petrol pump near City Tower at 2:30 pm; New Market at 3:30 pm and Dimapur Railway Station at 5:00 pm, according to the release.

It was informed that the street plays are an awareness programme on the subject of blood donation to make people aware of the importance of blood donation and to motivate them to save the lives of fellow citizens. 

The script, provided by NSD was written by Dr Praksh Jha in Hindi and is translated into Nagamese by a Student Teacher David M Leinak, 2nd Semester UCTE and directed by V Uto Chishi, (Artistic Director ZTSM & Assistant Professor, UCTE), the release stated.
