Mokokchung, April 29 (DIPR): A strong wind hit Merangkong village on April 28, at around 11: 30 pm, causing damage to houses and Power supply posing danger to human life. According to SDO (C) Tuli, Arikumba, soon after receiving the news, District Administration rushed to the Village and took immediate measures by informing the Electrical department about two electrical poles slightly bented and power lines being snapped and also requested the Village Council to extend help to the affected families. There was no report of injuries or loss of life. Altogether 7 (seven) houses were partially damaged while Anganwadi Centre was completely damaged, the affected families are Marmeren LKR, Bendangkokba, Imsongmangyang, Nokdisang, Lanuwati, Aolepden and Noklangsangba.
