Student missing after reportedly being washed away in Wokha

Wokha, July 1 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Wokha has issued an appeal for assistance in the search for a missing person, Rendemo Odyuo. The 25-year-old student was reportedly washed away by the Dzuvurie Stream on June 27 at approximately 4:00 PM.

The incident prompted the DC’s office to mobilize village councils situated upstream of the Doyang Dam within Wokha District to initiate search operations. Additional Deputy Commissioner, K Furhesie Nyuwi, stated, "We are appealing to all village councils in the upstream area of the Doyang Dam to activate their search teams. It is crucial that we work together to locate and retrieve the body."

Rendemo Odyuo, whose current address is the Traffic Control Room opposite SKV Petrol Pump in Midland, Kohima, was last seen near the Dzuvurie Stream. According to the notice,  Odyuo is a student and had been residing in Kohima for his studies.
"We are requesting the full support and cooperation of the local communities in this search operation. Their assistance is vital in our efforts to find Rendemo Odyuo," the Additional Deputy Commissioner said.
