Students called to persevere with fair play and team spirit

  Dimapur, November 14 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) Collegiate Meet inaugural function was graced by Tongpang Ozukum, Minister, Public Works Department, GoN.   ANCSU in a press release stated that Ozukum in his speech called upon the concerned departments, Nagaland University and the state government to come together and host such kind of meet that gives privilege to students to expose their talents. Ozukum said that sport is not only for celebration but a time to unite as sports has no language. He challenged the students to participate with sportsmanship spirit and to persevere with fair play and team spirit.   Tsukjem Lkr, Convenor, Organizing Committee delivering the keynote address gave a recap on how the ANCSU Collegiate meets given opportunities to students in different fields. He encouraged the students to take ahead the dreams and aspiration of the union through gatherings like the collegiate meets.   Katho P Awomi, President ANCSU in his address called upon the state government to adopt sports and other co-curricular activities in the education of the state. While sharing his happiness over the mammoth gathering, Awomi said that, “The collegiate meet is also a moment for the students to exercise themselves to fight for their rights when called upon.”   Administration of oath was given by Benjong Longchar, Games & Sports incharge. The day was marked with events of football (men), volleyball (women) and badminton mixed doubles. In the day, November 15 with various sports disciplines to be played, Dr.Neikiesalie Nicky Kire Advisor Rural Development, GoN will grace the Beat Contest as the special invitee.
