DIMAPUR, JULY 5 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students Union (Nagaland) in an open letter to the Chief Secretary has suggested that the “government should wake up from slumber and re-channelise its activities with proper plan and policy for the youth by keeping in mind the official (genuine) record of the ‘educated unemployed’ from the employment department in Nagaland. This, according to the students, has to be done without randomly entrusting every ‘Tom, Dick and Harry’ department that has “no inkling or records of the genuine educated unemployed youths.”
“This will check bogus applicants for any project or schemes undertaken for educated unemployed youths and bring a transparent framework in implementing government aims and objectives for the youths.”
The government should immediately channelise all educated unemployed youth schemes to the department of employment exchange or make the same a nodal department in partnership with any department that undertakes programmes relating to self-employment in Nagaland, the open letter states.
The ZSU (N) also laid some of the few urgent necessities for Peren District in particular (see box).
