KYK District Youth Convention conducted in Zunheboto
Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): Nehru Yuva Kendra, Zunheboto conducted District Youth Convention (DYC) with the objective of building the capacity of the youth. It was conducted at Tenyimi Church, Zunheboto on March 16 with Anthony Ngully, ADC, Zunheboto as chief guest.
ADC Anthony Ngully encouraged the youth to attend career guidance or career counseling classes to get the career options clear before they decide what they want to do in life after PU or graduation. He said that present youth look confused in career choices. If career choices are not properly done than, they could end up their life in drug addiction or alcoholics, which they become a liability to the society. He cited that in the last census, the state of Nagaland found very high youth population. The DAN government of Nagaland after taking into account the high magnitude of the youth presence in the state gave importance to youth empowerment such as building youth entrepreneurships, Music Task Force, financial package for unemployed youth to take up entrepreneurship, establishing training institutions etc.
He also said that for Nagas music is in their blood. Nagas sing very well, we are talented and we can definitely further excel in Music. He cited some of the young Naga youth who have excel in music world like Alobo, Divine Channel etc who have represented in various national and international levels where they have brought laurels for Nagas. He encouraged the youth to take up music as a career.
John Makhabo, DYC i/c NYK Zunheboto highlighted the various programmes and activities of Nehru Yuva Kendra. He said the NYK direct link to grassroot level rural Youth clubs are asset the Govt. of India. Government feel the active participation of rural youth clubs as stake holders to development. He also called upon the rural youth clubs to play pro-active role in building the nation through their cohesive efforts. In the afternoon, session John Makhabo took Life skills education.
Chief Guest distributed sport Materials to the youth clubs who have placed their applications for it. The application came from various blocks of Zunheboto. The programme was chaired by Kitoshe, NYC, NYK. Vetsiilo, Pastor, Tenyimi Church invoked Gods’ blessing, Unice, NYC, NYK gave welcome address and Katoni NYC, NYK extended vote of thanks for the gathering.
