
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 6 (MExN): Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) rounded up 26 students from several booze joints in Dimapur, Friday, August 6. DNSU activists apprehended the students from Super Market.
Three of the students are still in high school while the rest are doing their higher secondary and bachelors’ degrees’ studies from several institutions in and around Dimapur. It included three girls.
President, DNSU, Medovoi Medeo said that not all the defaulting students were caught indulging in alcohol. Some of them were giving company to their friends while one of the girls were found roaming around after bunking classes, the president said.
The DNSU has warned restaurants and booze joints against entertaining students in uniform while shop-keepers are further cautioned from ‘safekeeping’ students’ bags and belongings during class hours. Moreover, students are advised to refrain from shopping while in uniform during academic hours.
Queried on what disciplinary action the DNSU will take on the defaulting students, Medeo replied that the union will take its own course of action.
Medeo said that further raids were conducted at Dhobinullah and DC Court area by DNSU activists.
