Clean election campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha General Election organized by the District Education Office Kiphire was held on March 30 at Deluxe Point, Kiphire with the overwhelming participation of around 500 students from 11 schools of Kiphire.
Addressing the students, the Deputy Commissioner M. Shayung Phom, Kiphire reminded the young future voters that there is corruption in our society because the system of election is not clean. Therefore to do away with the corrupt system students must educate the society.
The DC stated that even NBCC has tried in the past for a clean election in Nagaland however campaign by NBCC has been only partly successful.
Urging the students to be a beacon of change, DC called upon the students’ community to strengthen democractic process by exercising one's franchise without getting into malpractices as the beginning of change start with students.
The DC expressed hope that the rally will infuse in students the importance of practicing clean election, which ultimately will bring about change for a better tomorrow.
Dr Apise, Executive Secretary, USBLA speaking at the event said change in society will only happen with the active participation of students community therefore young voters must come out and say no to corrupt system of election.
Students were seen carrying placards like 'Vote for better India', 'Say yes to one Vote, one hope and not to one vote, one note', 'Money out, Voters in'.
Earlier the programme was led by Deenabandhu Panda, DEO Kiphire and vote of thanks by Kilangsangla Aonok, Asst. DEO, Kiphire.
