Students pledge to protect earth

Dimapur, April 23 (MExN): In an effort to create awareness among the students on Environment protection, Peace Channel in collaboration with St. Clare Hr sec school Peace Club member’s Kacharigaon, Dimapur conducted social work to commemorate World Earth day.  

The students were engaged in cleaning the school compound, cleaning the school washroom and toilet, clearing and repairing the school Road, plantations of trees and maintaining of school garden for peace club. The students also made placards with a slogan “Water is precious, Green St. Clare, Talab Free toilet, plastic free St. Clare, Clean St. Clare etc” and were kept in every corner around the school compound to aware the other fellow students.  

Later, the students took a pledge to restore the rich bounties of nature by taking up responsibilities to protect the mother earth and also encourage their fellow friends to protect our mother earth and create a sustainable environment.  

All together 60 students along with the Peace Channel staff, peace animators of St. Clare and teacher in charge actively participated for the programme.
