In a letter addressed to the defaulting president, one Bokato V Zhimo, the SRSU posed a number of questions why political statements should be made representing the union. The students’ organization made clear to him the SRSU is for the welfare and uplift of the society and has nothing to do with any political affairs of any party.
The political declaration of the said president has disgraced the image of the SRSU in the eye of the public, the union stated in the letter. The said letter to the president appended was by all the sixteen SRSU executives led by the Acting president Endy C Swu and general secretary Jimo K Jimo was received here. The SRSU posed a number of questions to Bokato V Zhimo to which he is to respond and clarify before the public through the media before February 25 as well as in person before the Union Assembly.
The letter queried: “(In) your speech on behalf of SRSU on February 13 on occasion of formal declaration of INC candidate for 36 A/c at Satakha, you publicly declared that SRSU and its executives is in favor and support of INC candidate. The union questioned his intention as president in misusing the students’ platform that is the SRSU. “SRSU is an apex students’ body under Satakha range which is for the welfare and (uplift) of our society ad students in particular and has nothing to do with political affairs of any party. Your action has directly disgraced the image of SRSU in the eye of the general public. You are therefore asked to clarify to the people of Satakha through Press Media before February 25, 2008 and in person in the union Assembly which will be notified to you” the union directed.
