Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Yimpang-Alikhum Students’ Union Dimapur has condemned the “assassination attempt” on the BJP candidate of 40 Bhandari A/C, Mmhonlumo Kikon on February 17 at Yimpang village in Wokha district. In the incident, the union in a press release said one of its members, Yanpenthung Yanthan, was grievously injured by an unruly mob and hospitalized at a private hospital in Dimapur. The press release issued by the union president, Abemo Ezung discouraged the Yimpang Village Council chairman and Head GB of the village “not to actively involve in politics by holding the office of the president and treasurer of a particular political party in the village, but to maintain peace and tranquility in the village and uphold the clarion call of the NBCC for clean election.” The union also urged the law enforcing agencies to do justice to the affected people at the earliest.
