DIMAPUR, JULY 12 (MExN): The officials of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) led by President Chichamo Kikon have placed 4 (four) Charter of Demands to the Director, Higher Education, Kohima regarding the Scholarship issue.
ANCSU has stated that during the 5th Union Assembly which was held on June 28 at Fazl Ali College Mokokchung, the August House after heavy deliberation resolved that all the students will go for full amount which has been sanctioned by the central government under the PMCS 2006-07. “This decision was taken due to random rejection of Scholarship forms and hostel forms for 2006-07 PMCS beneficiaries without any pre information” ANCSU Vice president O Wati Jamir, Speaker Mhonbemo Ngullie and President Chichamo Kikon have said in a release.
The 4 (four) Charter of Demands made by ANCSU as per the RTI Act the Union demands to know the total amount received for PMCS 2006-07, total number of student beneficiaries for 2006-07, actual amount to be received by the students, number of scholarship forms and hostel forms rejected and on what ground and total amount left after disbursement of scholarship.
The Union has question as to why the department went for random rejection of scholarship forms and hostel forms only after receiving the total amount from the central government. Why no pre-information was given for the students whose scholarship were rejected, why hostel forms were investigated only in Kohima and Dimapur and that too after receiving the whole anticipated amount, whereby neglecting the hostellers in Kohima and Dimapur.
“As per the points mentioned above, there have been so many anomalies in the disbursement of 2006-07 PMCS. However, since the Central Government has sanctioned the whole anticipated amount as per the proposal to the Central Government from your esteem department, it is our sincere appeal to your esteem authority to sanction the entitled amount to the beneficiaries irrespective of any rejection (either in Scholarship Forms or hostel forms), failing which the students will take its own course of action.
And for any untoward incident arising out of it the students should not be held”, the Union clearly states in the release.
And it further added that for any untoward incident arising out of it the students should not be held responsible.
