Students’ union urges to revoke transfer of AHM, GHSS Shamator

Shamator, March 8 (MExN): The Shamator Town Students’ Union (STSSU) has appealed to the Education Department to immediately revoke the transfer order of Assistant Head Master (AHM), Govt. Higher Secondary School Shamator and retain him at the same school. Takukhumba, the AHM, was transferred to Totokchingnyu by the School Education Department through an order dated 10th Feb. 2016, informed a release from STSSU President K Thsantong and General Secretary T Dopong.

“Transferring of government officials, especially from the educational institutions and that too from Shamator Town without their immediate reliever or replacement appeared to be inappropriate as the schools under Shamator were left very miserable where shortage of teachers and controlling officers are the most crucial problems being faced particularly at GHSS,” stated the students’ union.

It added that GHSS Shamator is the only school that imparts secondary education in the subdivision and “its students were deprived of what they were supposed to avail like the rest of the schools and colleges in the district from the concerned department owing to the lack of manpower.”

It further said that instead of posting adequate teachers and officers, the contrary act of the department has greatly hurt the sentiments of the students’ community.
