Seminar On Tenyidie
A seminar on Tenyidie, organized by the Angami Students' Union Kohima College, Kohima, was held at Ura Academy here under the theme ‘Tenyidie, U Mhasimhale Bode-u’ on February 17.
Professor D. Kuolie, Head of Department of Linguistic, Nagaland University and Secretary General, Ura Academy, Kohima and Daso Paphino, Director, Treasuries and Account, Nagaland were the resource persons.
In his speech, D. Kuolie said language is the best way to learn a culture and through the learning of languages one can widen the scope in the process of gaining knowledge. He encouraged the students to enrich the language by putting more importance into writing poetries and stories, according to a press release. Kuolie also advised the present generation to respect elders, respect one’s language, respect one’s traditional attires and protect one’s lifestyle to ensure a good society.
Meanwhile, Daso Paphino presented slides tracing out where the Tenyimia actually originated and how they migrated from one place to another. He also gave a brief view on their traditional games, traditional instruments, houses and attires.
The seminar was attended by students from different colleges and leaders from various students’ unions.
