Kohima, September 22 (MExN): Nagaland’s film ‘ANGH’ has been honoured with the Platform Award at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), marking a significant milestone for the state’s cinema.
The Film Association of Nagaland (FAN) on Tuesday extended its heartfelt congratulations to Director and Writer Theja Rio, Producer Nancy Nisa Beso, and the entire cast and crew of the film on the achievement.
The Association recognised this achievement as more than an individual accomplishment, calling it a proud moment for the state’s filmmakers, artists and the entire creative community.
The association said the achievement demonstrates the potential of stories rooted in Nagaland’s land, people, culture and lived experiences to reach and resonate with audiences on the global stage.
FAN noted that the success of ‘ANGH’ represents an important chapter in the continuing development of Nagaland’s film industry, having carried the voice of the state to the world and offering encouragement to emerging filmmakers and artists.
It further reinforced the importance of telling authentic Naga stories with vision, creativity and confidence, the statement said.
FAN commended Theja Rio, Nancy Nisa Beso and every member of the cast and crew for their dedication, perseverance and contribution to the landmark achievement.
As ‘ANGH’ continues its international journey, FAN extended its best wishes to the entire team, expressing hope that the achievement would open greater doors, inspire generations of Naga filmmakers and lead to many more milestones on the world stage.
The association also wished that the journey of ‘ANGH’ continue to bring honour and recognition to Nagaland and its creative community.
