Dimapur, July 10 (MExN): The family members of the late BK Das and late Gangamani Rai Das have announced the institution of the "Sudha Das Academic Excellence Award" to honor outstanding academic performance among girl students from the Gorkha community in Kohima district. This award aims to recognize the highest-scoring girl student in the HSLC Examination 2024 conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).
The "Sudha Das Academic Excellence Award" will be presented for three consecutive years: 2023, 2024, and 2025. The award includes a plaque and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.
Meghraj Lama, President of GSUK, in a press release informed "This award is a tribute to the memory of Sudha Das, and we hope it will inspire young Gorkha girls to strive for academic excellence." The award is specifically for Gorkha/Nepali girl students who top the HSLC Examination in Kohima district. The criteria for eligibility are stringent to ensure that the most deserving candidate is recognized.
The selection process involves evaluating the overall percentage of marks across six subjects. "We are calling on all Gorkha girls who have secured 80% and above in their HSLC exams to submit their mark sheets," said Jenny Lamchane Chetri, Vice-President of GPPK.
Students are required to submit their mark sheets by July 12, 2024, before 6:00 PM, either via email at meghrajlama@gmail.com or through WhatsApp at 9612001207. Any submissions received after the deadline will not be entertained. For further inquiries, students can contact 9612001207 or 7005694050.
The organizers are hopeful that this award will not only honor academic excellence but also encourage more students from the Gorkha community to achieve high standards in their educational pursuits.
