This is to bring to your notice about the sufferings of the citizens in public transportations which is an unavoidable situation as public does not just refers to strangers alone but family, relatives, etc.
The 50% passengers capacity in public transportation is a good decision but not practical in its approach. To be clear on this normally 5 people seat at the back of the mini bus. However due to SOP it has been limited to 4 people which is totally absurd and all the four passengers have to pay Rs.20 per head. As for the students it is taking a huge toll on them because they have to pay double the fare because of the new rules. Moreover those people especially families like mother and child, father and child, brother and sister, etc are separated too without consent of the age or their conditions. People opt for public transportations not because it is considered the cheapest means of transportation but because it eases the erratic traffic and helps the environment. We should know that families live together, stay together, eat together and walk together while in public transportation had to be separated, it is just out of logic.
This is just a case for Kohima Bus services while Taxi's, Auto's, etc have their own system again.
I would like to sincerely request the concerned authorities to please understand the public grievances and make rules and regulations which can be adhered by all. The public have no say on the maintenance of SOP and wearing of masks but the authorities should do what is needful.
