DIMAPUR, June 28 (MExN): The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has assured the public that there are ample rice stocks in Nagaland to meet the state's requirements under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). The FCI's Regional Office in Dimapur confirmed that as of June 27, 2024, approximately 44,300 metric tonnes (MT) of fortified rice kernel (FRK) rice are available in the central pool. "With around 44,300 MT of FRK rice available against the 11,500 MT (approx.) needed for June 2024, we are well above the buffer norms and operational requirements," stated a press release from the FCI Regional Office. "We want to assure the people of Nagaland that there is no cause for concern regarding rice availability. Our stocks are more than sufficient to meet the state's needs," added the statement.
