The Government Middle School in Sukhalu village under Zunheboto District established in the year 1964 with an school UDISE Code 130402201 and school motto “Knowledge - Learn to Love It”, catering to 56 students from Classes A to 8 with 30 boys and 26 girl students in the school, is grappling with an acute shortage of staff and inadequate infrastructure.
Despite having 13 sanctioned teaching posts, the school operates with only five usable classrooms, one of which is the Anganwadi kitchen that has been converted into a makeshift classroom.
The store room is also being used as a classroom, and in several instances, multiple classes are forced to share a single room due to space constraints making it so hard for students as well as teachers to handle sometimes.
Adding to the crisis, the only English teacher at the school was recently transferred as part of the rationalization process, leaving the students without any English instruction.
Furthermore, the school urgently requires an additional Hindi teacher, as there is only one Hindi instructor tasked with teaching students across all grades—from Class 1 to Class 8—making it virtually impossible to meet academic standards.
