CMO office Kiphire conducts workshop
Kiphire, December 9 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer office, Kiphire conducted a workshop on Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN), an initiative for zero preventable maternal and newborn deaths, at the District Hospital Kiphire Conference Hall on December 9.
A press release from Haichikambe Pame, District Media Officer, CMO Office Kiphire stated that the resource persons at the workshop were Dr K Pewezo Khalo, DPO (RCH/UIP), Dr Imnanoktsung Longchar, DPM (QA), and Limawati, DPM (NHM).
Dr Khalo gave a powerpoint presentation on SUMAN, during which he said the vision of the initiative was to create a responsible health care system which strives to achieve zero maternal and infant deaths through quality care provided with dignity and respect, and with a goal to end all preventable maternal and newborn deaths.
He mentioned that SUMAN is a flagship programme of the Government of India that emphasises on providing quality medical, surgical and emergency care services to beneficiaries, with special attention to mothers and newborn babies.
He said the beneficiaries of the initiative comprised of all pregnant women, all mothers up to 6 months post-delivery, and all sick infants. He further presented about the broad pillars of the initiative, entitlements under the initiative, and facilities under the initiative, among others.
Dr Imnanoktsung gave a powerpoint presentation regarding Facility Assessment Checklist, during which he discussed about human resource availability, equipments and consumable availability, training and capacity building, among other things.
Limawati presented on Maternal and Newborn Health Indicators of the District Hospital Kiphire regarding ANC registration, 1st trimester registration, four ANC registrations, ANC in Pre-term Labour, Institutional deliveries, Still Birth, JSY beneficiaries, and JSSK beneficiaries.
