Pughoboto, January 13 (MExN): The Sumi Aphuyemi Kukami Hoho (SAKH)—the apex organization of the Sumi Aphuyemi—has decided and pledged to “give support to the Naga issue in the greater interest of the Nagas in general and the Sumis in particular.” To this effect, it will convene a general public meeting at the Pughoboto headquarters “at the earliest.”
This was stated today in a press release from SAKH president, Suhoje Kiho (GB), who highlighted the Hoho’s consultative meeting held on January 4 this year at Ghathashi Town that deliberated on the December 21 incident and the aftermath. “The members that attended the meeting have vehemently condemned the incidents. They viewed that the gruesome aftermath would have been avoided if the NSCN authority could have accepted the demand of the public on time,” noted the release.
With regard to the “physical non-cooperation of the Sumi Aphuyemi to Sumi volunteers in the gun bathe with NSCN-IM Z.B. Battalion at Mukalimi designated Camp,” the SAKH stated, “according to our customary practice no group or individual have the right to attack the enemy without the consent of the rightful landowner.” Quoting examples of “destructive acts by the volunteers,” the SAKH stated, “We observed that the actions taken by the Sumi volunteers were truly uncalled for disregard to the Sumi Aphuyemi was evident by the threatening acts to the neighbouring villages.”
