DIMAPUR, NOV 27 (MExN): The new church building of the Sumi Baptist Church, Sugar Mill Village, Dimapur was dedicated for the glory of the Lord on November 27 amidst a large gathering. Hundreds of believers also came from and around Dimapur to witness and share the blessing and joy of the dedication day ordained by God for Sumi Baptist Church.
The congregation sang hymns and sought blessings before Rev.Vitoshe Swu, Executive Secretary, WSBAK cut the ribbon and opened the door of the new church. Rev. Vitoshe in his message told the congregation that the church was a holy place and to keep holy. He also told that no other activities but only worship should be done in the holy place and that spiritual and physical healing would take place in the church.
‘It is a very happy and a blessed day for us’ said Hukugha Tuccu, Youth Secretary and added that it was the generosity of the people and the blessing of God that they were able to build the church. He said ‘I’ve forgotten all the troubles and pains taken during the construction.’ It took the church two years and eight months to complete the new building at a cost of Rs. 74,40,000/-. Kent Rengma, Principal Consortium architect engeneer, designed the church which has a seating capacity of one thousand people attached with a conference room in the basement.
Nehoshe Chophy, Chairman, Church Building Committee has thanked Rengma, the architect of the church and all those who supported them through prayer and finance.
