DIMAPUR, JUNE 26 (MExN): The Sümi Hoho has condemned the June 23 incident wherein one Khehuto I. Assumi, a former Lance Havildar, 164 TA Bn, was shot dead in Kohima. A press release from the Sümi Hoho appealed to the government to initiate proper investigation into the incident claiming that “no one deserves to suffer such capital punishment without a fair trial, even if he was accused of something criminal in the eyes of the law.” The Sümi Hoho stated that “gunning down of the suspect in broad daylight is nothing short of murder, and urged the government to leave no stones unturned in its investigation on the incident.”
