Zunheboto, November 20 (MExN): The Sümi Hoho and Sümi frontal organisations today cautioned against disrupting the ongoing road construction works in and around Zunheboto while asserting that the Sumi public would not hesitate to take necessary measures to ensure timely completion of such works.
“It is learnt that some miscreants are disrupting the ongoing road construction works in and around Zunheboto by trying to extort money from the construction companies and agencies,” informed a joint statement issued by Sümi Hoho and Sümi Kükami Hoho (SKH).
“We expect every responsible groups and individuals to cooperate with the construction companies and agencies instead of being a stumbling block to the developmental activities,” the statement said, adding: “The Sumi public will not hesitate to take necessary steps and measures to ensure timely completion of road construction works.”
The people of Zunheboto have been adversely effected due to poor road connectivity and have been suffering for so long. The resumption of SARDP-NE road construction works between Chakhabama to Zunheboto via Satakha and BRO road from Zunheboto to Kiphire via Aghunato is a big sigh of relief, it said.
To this end, the Sumi Hoho and the frontal organisations cautioned all those miscreants disrupting the ongoing road construction works to desist from such acts that “will invite public fury” but rather support and cooperate with the construction personnel for speedy completion of works.
While assuring their fullest cooperation, the Sumi Hoho and the frontal organisations also urged the construction companies and agencies undertaking the construction work to ensure quality works delivered to the people as per the specifications.
The Hoho further appeal to all the local based civil societies and elders to bring to its knowledge and other frontal organisations if the ongoing road construction works are found to be sub-standard, added the statement appended by Sumi Hoho President I Nikheto Jimomi, General Secretary Dr Vihuto Asumi and Kashito Yepthomi, President SKH.
