Zunheboto, April 13 (MExN): The Sumi Hoho General Session (Baghi Hoho) was held on April 11 at Zunheboto. Sumis from every nook and corner participated in session. Session began with Dr. Daniel Chishi, Senior Pastor, Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church reading the Bible and invoking God’s blessings. Toniho Yepthomi, President gave the Presidential Address followed by greetings from Zheshito Swu, President, Western Sumi Hoho. K.L. Chishi, former Chief Minister, Nagaland, who was one of the brains behind the formation of the Sumi Hoho way back in 1979 exhorted the public.
Kaito Aye, Minister, Nagaland, Vikheho Swu, Minister, Nagaland and Mr. Pukhayi Asumi, Parliamentary Secretary, Nagaland also gave short speeches. Special Number was presented by Aron Asumi and friends. Vihuto Asumi, General Secretary gave the Sumi Hoho 2014 – 2017 Report and also read out the Sumi Hoho Resolutions followed by Finance Report by Ghokhevi Chophi, Finance Secretary. Vote of thanks was delivered by Hekhushe Shikhu, Secretary.
The Search Committee declared the officials for the tenure 2017 – 2020. The new team will be lead by Hekhushe Shikhu as the President where handing and taking over program will be done within the month of April. Prayer of blessing and benediction was conducted by Rev. Yevito Sumi, Senior Pastor, Sumi Baptist Church, Zunheboto. The session was chaired by Khehoshe Yepthomi, Vice President and recorded by Vihoto Shohe and Kakuto Chishi, Secretaries.
