Sumi Hoho reiterates protection of ACs

Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The Sumi Hoho has reiterated its earlier stand for ‘protection’ of the seven assembly constituencies of Zunheboto district. Taking into account the ‘confusion and commotion’ among various sections of the people of the district in regard to the delimitation issue, a Sumi Hoho executive committee, including all frontal chiefs, held a meeting on April 18 and adopted a three-point suggestion. In the meeting the draft proposal of delimitation with special reference to Zunheboto was rejected. The meeting further resolved and agreed in principle to follow the guidelines for minor readjustment within the district. In this regard, it was endorsed to the concern authority to exercise its duty judiciously in accordance with the Election Commission’s guidelines and methodologies especially part-II and part-V, clause-VII and VIII basing on ground realities, a note from the Hoho executive stated. The meeting also decided to invite GBs, leaders and representatives of each and every village and areas for mutual and amicable solution on the delimitation issue, as and when required. The Hoho appealed to all “not to be panicky.”
