Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): Sumi Hoho held its last Executive Committee meeting on August 23 at Zunheboto, attended by leaders from different frontals; Chiefs, WSH, NSH and Kiphire District Sumi Hoho apart from Hoho Executive Members and Office Bearers. The meeting reviewed all pertinent matters and issues that had been discussed overseen by the Hoho and also resolved to initiate for codification of Sumi Customary Law and amendment of Hoho constitution.
The meeting also resolved and tentatively fixed its annual general session cum election of new office bearers for the tenure 2007-2010, sometime in the last week of October.
It also seriously viewed the present social and political scenario of our Naga society and while reiterating its support to Nagaland GB’s federation and DB’s Association initiative for peace and reconciliation, expressed its displeasure over the impassivity of different Naga underground camps.
Through a press note, Sumi Hoho expresses its appreciation to Israel G. Xuivi (Founder of Kiti- Do) for his immense contribution in the field of sports, particularly for putting in all efforts to imparting Kiti- Do to the young students and youth, and successfully affiliating his school to the Martial Arts Games Federation of India. The sport originated from Sumi traditional kick fight. Meanwhile, it also resolved to revive All Sumi Sports Association which shall be function under the supervision of the Sumi Hoho.
