Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): In the backdrop of successfully brokering a ceasefire between the two warring NSCNs in Zunheboto, the Sumi Hoho while thanking the two, has reaffirmed towards working for peace and reconciliation.
“While expecting a ray of hope for peace and reconciliation among the Naga national workers, the Hoho reaffirm its commitment to play its role for peace and reconciliation among the Naga national workers” HS Rotokah, President and Aheto V Yepthomi, General Secretary of the Hoho affirmed in a statement received here.
The Sumi Hoho acknowledged the positive response and concern for peace shown by leaders of both the factions’ stating that the reciprocation is much in the interest of the Nagas. “The Sumi Hoho believes that such agreement for peace (would be) implemented in the entire Naga inhabited areas” the Hoho hoped.
The Hoho expressed its sincere appreciation to both the NSCN factions for having signed the ceasefire agreement to cease from factional conflicts in the Sumi areas as appealed by the Sumi public and NGOs under the aegis of the apex body.
