Sumi organisations appeal GoI for early solution, keep delimitation on hold

Zunheboto, September 25 (MExN): The three apex Sumi frontal organizations— All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK), Sumi Kukami Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho held a consultative meeting at SKK Hiyam in Zunheboto on September 25. 

According to a joint press release from the three organizations, the meeting was called to discuss the ongoing Naga Political talks between the Government of India and Naga Political Groups.

“After serious discussion and thorough deliberation the three Apex organizations of Sumi strongly appeal the Government of India to be sincere in solving the long pending Naga solution without further delay,” the release stated.

It also urged the Government of India to keep the Delimitation process on hold unless an ‘honourable, acceptable and inclusive’ solution has been arrived at.

Further, the organizations appreciated the steps taken by the Government of Nagaland to revoke the COVID cess on petroleum products. The organizations expressed hope that the State Government will continue to uphold and address the grievances faced by the general public even in the future.
