Maligaon, May 27 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has informed that 45 special trains have arrived in NE states till May 26 with more than 63,000 stranded people.

More than 20 special trains will be arriving in the coming days, Subhanan Chanda, CPRO of NFR said in a press release on May 27.

80 percent of Shramik Special trains are running towards few particular states.

Due to the surge in numbers of east-bound trains, network congestion occurs sometimes, the release added.

Increased time taken in the de-boarding of passengers due to the various health and social distancing protocols at the stations also leads to congestion, the press release stated.

However, according to the NFR, trains running on May 27 did not face any congestion.
