Phek, February 24 (MExN): Under the Chief Minister’s Mobile Operation Theatre (CM-MOT) programme, a surgical camp was conducted at District Hospital, Phek on February 22 and 23. The CM-MOT has been launched to deliver advanced Surgical and Healthcare Services to the rural and remote areas of Nagaland.

A short inaugural programme was conducted at Dr Wethselo T Mero Memorial hall, DH which was attended by Deputy Commissioner Tsulise Sangtam NCS, Col Iqbaljit Singh Bhillon 39 Assam Rifle Phek Town, Town Council Members, staff from DH & CMO office.

Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso (Dr Ato) MLA of Nagaland shared that the main purpose of CMMOT is to provide high-quality healthcare services to the underprivileged Communities by visiting all the districts and deliver life-saving interventions to all the far-flung/remote areas.

John Tsulise Sangtam Deputy Commissioner in his keynote address has conveyed that Phek District is fortunate to have  CMMOT surgical team led by Dr Ato which is a beautiful  program reaching out the poorest community.

The surgical team led by Dr Ato Surgeon MLA along with Dr Kenei, Dr Moa, Dr Rovino, 3 OT nurses, 2 OT technicians assisted by the surgeons, anaesthetist, OT staffs of District Hospital has operated 30 major surgeries all by keyhole/laparoscopic procedures. 

Most cases are gall bladder stones, kidney stones, uterus tumor, paediatric hernia cases etc. This camp has benefitted specially the poor rural people who could not undergo timely operation due to financial constraints.
