
DIMAPUR, JUNE 1 (MExN): 3 senior Nagaland BJP members who were suspended on May 30, following a protest in Dimapur calling for the ouster of the party’s state unit President, today said that their suspension was “based on false allegation, malicious intent, dictatorial in nature and a flagrant violation of the rules contained in the” BJP Constitution. A joint statement from the 3 suspended members, IK Sema, HK Khulu and Yanghose Sangtam stated that the appointment of the Advisor was done with approval of the centre and hence action cannot be taken by the state president on his own. It further refuted allegations that slogans against central party leaders were shouted during the May 30 protest. The Nagaland BJP, they said “cannot grow or succeed under such leadership,” and urged the central leadership to “change the president immediately.”
