Mon, October 12 (MExN): As part of the SVEEP campaign, Election Department, Mon organized a marathon based on the theme "Clean and Ethical Election" on October 9. The race was flagged off by ADC Mon, Kumar Ramnikant IAS.
In his short speech, the ADC Mon encouraged the students not to use any faulty means to become winners of race but instead consider all participants as winners. A short speech was delivered by Easter, Miss Mon 2018 and Theanglih of Election Office Mon. In a press release by DIPR, the marathon started at BRO camp and finished at DC complex, Mon with junior and senior categories.
The winners of the race from junior boys category were Daniel Konyak from St John School, A. Wanmai Konyak from Konjong School and Kantan Konyak from High School as 1st , 2nd and 3rd respectively. Junior girls winners were Ngeplong Konyak from Little Flower School, Wanjen Konyak from Little Flower School and Aruni Mao from St Joseph School as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the senior category boys, the winners were Manlang W from Government Higher Secondary School, M. KhamhiKonyak from St John School and Tzemyuh Konyak from Government High School as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Senior girls category winners were Mercy from Government High School 'D' Mon, Ngonteih from Government High School 'D' Mon, L. Neivau Phom from Government Higher Secondary School as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
