Mokokchung, November 3 (MExN): A two-day outreach initiative organized under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program concluded successfully at Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, with a range of activities designed to promote voter registration and civic engagement among young voters.

The event, held on November 1 and 2, was a collaborative effort between the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland, the District Election Officer of Mokokchung, and the Nagaland Sports Association. Through this program, the organizers aimed to educate and encourage eligible young voters to actively participate in the democratic process, fostering a sense of responsibility and community involvement.

A highlight of the outreach was an EPIC (Electoral Participation in College) Tournament that included activities such as tug of war, relay races, capture the flag, and futsal tournaments for both men and women. These interactive games were designed not only to engage students in fun and competitive sports but also to emphasize teamwork, unity, and the importance of every citizen’s role in a healthy democracy.

In addition, a voter registration booth was set up at the venue to make it convenient for students to register as new voters, update their existing details, or verify their information. This accessible setup underscored the significance of each individual's participation in strengthening democratic structures and ensuring their voice in future elections.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where participants were recognized for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship, reinforcing the message of active civic participation. The successful collaboration between the CEO Nagaland, District Election Office Mokokchung, and the Nagaland Sports Association highlighted a shared commitment to fostering an informed and engaged electorate among the youth of Nagaland.
