Mokokchung, October 7 (DIPR): As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) an awareness programme cum social work was held at Mokokchung town where all the Government employees from all departments participated on October 7.
During a short programme held at Imlong Place, Brand Ambassador SBM, Mokokchung, Supongmeren mentioned his appreciation to Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel IAS, for organizing the social work programme saying that such initiatives fulfill the aspirations of the people of Mokokchung. He further urged the citizens of the town to take more responsibility in keeping the town clean and said that people of Mokokchung need to gear up once again to maintain the tall image of being the cleanest town in the state.
Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung in his short speech maintained the Swachh Bharat is all about cleanliness.
Therefore, he said that SBM begins with an individual and one’s home and surrounding. He further said that we need to go to another level to achieve the goal of SBM. The programme was chaired by EAC (Hq) R. Daniel Angami while Associate Pastor MTBA said the invocation. Social work was carried out in 6 locations of the town, namely Sewak gate, IMDH parking lot, MM shopping complex, Police point, Old Town Hall/vegetable market and Salangtem market.
