
Mokokchung, March 2 (MExN): PHED Mokokchung Division along with WSSO today started the week-long Swachh Shakti Week campaign to emphasize on active involvement of women in the Swachh Bharat Mission. The campaign will conclude on March 8.
The department has lined up various events leading up to March 8 - the International Women's Day, said PHED Executive Engineer Yanger Pongen while delivering the significance of Swachh Shakti Week at the conference hall of ADC Planning, Mokokchung.
Chaitangya, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Mokokchung, who was the guest of honour at the programme, congratulated the women’s contribution towards Swachh Bharat Mission and reminded that Mokokchung has already set its target to become Open Defecation Free (ODF) by end of this year.
He also stressed that behavioral change among the people is the most challenging task to achieve Mokokchung ODF by 2017.
In this connection, he also advised the field workers to document every work they have done to make a comprehensive analysis and chalk out different approaches to achieve the mission target.
Meanwhile, he lauded that PHED for undertaking various activities for the people, especially providing access to water and sanitary project.
