Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Delhi beat Nagaland by 8 wickets

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): Delhi overpowered Nagaland with a convincing 8 wickets victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on October 19.

After winning the toss Delhi decided to field first. Put in to bat Nagaland were able to pile up 105 runs on the board against the experienced Delhi bowling unit with Sedezhalie Rupreo top scoring with 27 runs while Joshua Ben Longkumer, Jonathan Rongsen and Imliwati Lemtur contributed 12 runs each. For Delhi their talisman bowlers who play for IPL franchises Suyash Sharma (KKR) and Navdeep Saini (RR) picked up two wickets each while Shivank Vashisht, Lalit Yadav and Dev Lakra took one wickets each. 

In the run chase Delhi achieved their target comfortably with Yash Dhull top scoring with 41 runs and ably supported by Anuj Rawat with 37 runs. For the Nagaland unit Hopongkyu Sangtam and Imliwati were the only bowlers who managed to get a wicket each.

On October 21, Nagaland will take on the UP at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, Dehradun. Live matches will be available on all Jio Applications and on Sports 18 channel.
