DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7 (MExN): The Sendenyu Youth Organization (SYO) and Sendenyu Lojvü Students’ Union (SLSU) conducted a combined social work at Sendenyu Wildlife biodiversity on August 6.

A press release from the SLSU media cell informed that altogether 44 members with executives, GBs and forest guards took part in clearing the trekking route from the biodiversity gate to Parashen. Sendenyu village has been conserving the area for more than 22 years by strictly prohibiting hunting, fishing and deforestation inside the protected area as well as the entire village jurisdiction.

The SYO and SLSU meanwhile cautioned that any individual from the village or outside the village violating the laws will be penalized and dealt as per the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. The SYO and SLSU further sought cooperation from “every right thinking citizen from our community and also from the neighboring villages to continue their support in our effort to protect and preserve all what is left of us for our future generations.”
