Tackle proxy teacher issue, ENSF asks federating units

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 2 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has empowered all its federating units to tackle the issues pertaining to proxy teachers in their jurisdictions.

A press note from the ENSF said that almost all schools in Eastern Nagaland are functioning “without any adequacy and to our utter dismay, with the existence of several proxy teachers.” It informed that the federation discussed on ways to address this issue in the recently held presidential meeting with the Confederation of Chang Students’ Union, Phom Students’ Conference, Yimchunger Akheru Arihako, United Sangtam Students’ Conference, Khiamnungan Students’ Union and Konyak Students’ Union, at DUDA guest house, Kohima.

“Despite its effort and appeal, not much has been initiated or resolved till today by the concern authorities,” the ENSF stated. “Such attitudes and policy had rather culminated to a point in igniting more illiteracy within the Eastern jurisdiction,” it added.

The federation has meanwhile further directed all departmental officers posted within its jurisdiction to be stationed at their respective postings. Failing which, the ENSF cautioned that it would take action against erring officers.
