The Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland, has had an impactful year, marked by dynamic events, international collaborations, and artist empowerment initiatives.
“Our mission to nurture talent and create opportunities for musicians and artists has been realized through a series of strategic partnerships, skill development programs, and performances at prestigious platforms across the world,” according to the Annual Administrative Report 2025-26 of the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, tabled in the 8th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA).
At the state level, TaFMA actively worked with Nagaland’s music and arts stakeholders, supporting events like the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games, Nagaland Super League, and the 25th Hornbill Music Festival.
Through multiple workshops conducted across the State under the Skilling Nagaland initiative, it focused on equipping artists and music professionals with essential technical skills, including Professional Sound Management and Foundational Music Production. These programs have played a crucial role in strengthening Nagaland’s music ecosystem by fostering a new generation of skilled professionals.
On the national and international stage, TaFMA artists and representatives made their mark at renowned festivals and expos.
TaFMA had participated in WOMEX (Worldwide Music Expo) in Manchester, UK, the Toraja International Festival in Indonesia, Samvaad Festival Jamshedpur (TATA Foundation) and Palm Expo Mumbai, showcasing Nagaland’s rich musical talent on global platforms.
Additionally, TaFMA provided artists with performance opportunities at various music festivals across India and Nagaland, ensuring they receive the exposure and recognition they deserve.
From grassroots development to global representation, TaFMA’s journey in 2024- 2025 has been a testament to our commitment to arts, the report stated adding “As we continue to support and uplift musicians, artists, and industry professionals, we look forward to another year of growth, collaboration, and excellence in music.”
