
Kohima, June 6 (MExN): The lone Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi has called upon departments to take up awareness programmes on centrally sponsored schemes (CSS).
Addressing a joint meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for Kohima and Tseminyu districts on June 5, he also urged the departments to avail the CSS wisely and to be strategic as the policies of the central government of funding has changed a lot.
As per the State DIPR, at the meeting Project Director DRDA, Kohima highlighted on their success stories and related activities of the department and also shared on projects taken up under Rural Development are MGNREGA, 15th FINANCE, NSRLM and PMAY-(G).
Assistant Director, Food & Civil Supplies briefed on the programmes and activities of the department and highlighted on the provision of sugar and kerosene oil allotted to Kohima district. He also briefed on the PMGKAY and the Annapurna Scheme.
Executive Engineer, Power gave a detailed explanation on the Rural Electrification Works and DeendayalUpadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.
The house also deliberated on the pre-paid meter to which the MP opined that it should be completed at a good time, the report said.
Earlier, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) both Rural and Urban briefed on the development of the road projects in the districts.
On Jal Jeevan Mission under PHE department apprised that 70 percent of the mission has been completed in the district. To this, Yepthomi asked the concerned department to complete remaining percentage of the scheme within the time frame.
The Chief Medical Officer also highlighted on the health centres and the programmes which are going actively in the district.
The MP questioned on the status of eradication of leprosy, TB and HIV/AIDS and the preventive measures for all these diseases.
He also stressed on the social stigma created by the public and urged the department to have an active surveillance in their concerned districts.
Officers from the Tribal Affairs highlighted on status of Article 275 (1), Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Schemes (SCA – TSS), Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), PradhanMantriAadiAdarsh Gram Yojana (PMAAGY) and Tribal Research Institute (TRI).
